In
Memory of Christopher Neidrich, RAVEN 18
June 5th, 2004
We
are deeply saddened to announce that at approximately
10:30 am, June 5, 2004, CIS special operations
officer Christopher Neidrich (RAVEN 18) was killed
in an ambush near Badghad International Airport.
Chris was on temporary assignment in Iraq providing
Executive Protection for American diplomats. |
Chris
came to CIS in 1993 after being Honorably discharged
from the United States Navy. Chris was accepted into
the Navy’s prestigious Basic Underwater Demolition
School, where he trained to be a Navy SEAL. Due to personal
reasons, Chris had to separate from the Navy but still
wanted to be apart of an elite force, which brought
him to CIS.
While with
CIS, Chris served in the SSG division where he was an
integral part of what we are today. Chris later transferred
into the Executive Protection Division where he was
assigned to high profile celebrities, business executives,
and a number of other details where he always proved
to be a valuable asset to CIS. In December of 2003,
Chris was scheduled to certify as an Anti-Terrorism
Officer giving him one more identifier as a trained
professional; Unfortunately this was delayed due to
his selection by BLACKWATER USA to deploy for assignment
in Iraq.
Chris
is survived by his 4-year-old son Gage Neidrich and
his fiancé Angela. Chris will be missed and always
remembered as a true warrior that not only spoke about
being a professional, but also lived as one.
A
special memorial page has been put up to honor Chris
and his contributions to CIS. CIS personnel and
people who knew Chris are welcome to contribute comments
in memory of Chris by sending an email to cgundry@cisworldservices.org.
The
Director of Training for Source Investigations Group,
Inc. was shot several times by Three Terrorists on Friday
June 13th, 2003
The Terrorists
and Bullets weren't real, but the scenarios were! Jack
Repass, the Director of Training for Source Investigations
Group and a Member of the Mobile Security Detail was
present at the Annual Training Conference for the Association
of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors in Orlando,
Florida. While at the Conference he was able to test
drive the PRISim System designed by Advanced Interactive
Systems (AIS) of Seattle, Washington.
Rick Oberland,
Trainer for AIS, used the computer-based system to project
Real World Scenarios onto a screen forcing Repass to
react to lethal and non-lethal use of force scenarios.
The system reacts based on the participant*s responses
to the threats. This high-speed video game is able to
accurately time and track shot placement and determine
if the use of force response would be adequate to stop
the *threat*. PRISim can also fight back with its shoot
back cannon, firing small plastic projectiles.
"It is the closest thing to the street that we
have seen in awhile." Says Repass.
The PRISim
System is compact and portable and can be moved from
training venue to training venue. AIS also has multiple
screen systems that can be installed in stationary facilities.
PRISim is being used by several Federal Law Enforcement
Agencies and is being test for use with the Federal
Air Marshall Program.
"Source
will continue to train with PRISim to better prepare
its Protective Officers to handle force on force scenarios.
This means that our Mobile Security Detail will be able
to deliver a level of protection and service to our
Clients that is consistent with Government Agencies."
Says Timothy Cash, Director of Operations with SIG.
For more
information on the PRISim System and AIS, contact Wayne
Hunt at 206-818-8606.
